Why President Buhari Postponed His Daughter, Zahra's Wedding

Preparations for the Nikkai ceremony between Mr. President’s daughter, Zahra Buhari and billionaire’s son, Ahmed Indimi, have been put on hold and the date changed.
Kemiashefonlovehaven gathered that this would be the second time the wedding date would be changed.
Zahra and Ahmed
According to latest reports the wedding has now been moved to 16th December, 2016.
Though sources did disclose the reasons behind the new date, it is believed to be on the insistence of President Mohammadu Buhari, who believes everything should be done according to his terms and conditions.
However, the new date has been confirmed and there would be no more change in date.
Maybe the major headache of the bride’s father has been the negative media attention that could arise from the laid out wedding ceremonies. Even the wedding organizing committee at the Presidency has been tasked to work against any form of embarrassment in the media.

But for those calling for a proper Nikkai for Zahra, Mr President would have desired her having a very private wedding without glitz or glamour.

Even the billionaire family, Indimi, isn’t comfortable with a private wedding. They have put everything in place to make the wedding exude class.
The groom’s family including the bride’s mother are willing to do anything to ensure that the event is well-celebrated. Even the bride, Zahra, who is close to her father, has made him realise that whatever he needs to do and whatever measures they need to put in place to avoid undue media attention, she would abide by it just to ensure that the event is well-celebrated.

Sources at the Presidency are of the opinion that as the wedding draws closer, fifth columnists and detractors have continued to raise the alarm over the crass ostentatious display of wealth, especially from the groom’s family, and the damage that such could do to the President’s political and social status both home and abroad.
It was for these reasons that the bride’s father had taken a firm stance on making all the ceremonies a private affair and he is bent on excluding the media.
Meanwhile, the First Lady, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, who is the bride’s mother is supposed to have had a party at the Banquet hall of the Presidential Villa coupled with another one organised by the wife of the Senate President, after which the groom’s will host all the families in Abuja. There would be another party in Maiduguri.
But everything is on hold currently.
KALH learnt that the President isn’t comfortable with all the arrangement.
Plans have been put in place currently to bar cameras, phones or other electronic devices at the wedding venues.
It was reported that the N58m worth of Louis Vuitton boxes used for the Lefe, a ceremony where gifts are brought to the bride by her in-laws, had rattled the Presidency especially with the gospel of austere measures preached by Buhari and members of his cabinet.

The lefe witnessed the Indimis exhibiting their wealth and class by making use of 20 exotic cars to bring in all the boxes to the Villa in Abuja recently. The designer bags were 20 and a car was used for each box that had ZBI inscribed on it.

Is it possible to have an Indimi/Buhari wedding without displaying wealth? How can Buhari tell Nigerians to embrace recession when his daughter’s wedding will gulp millions of naira?
Event planners sure have a tough job to do.
