Almost everyone wants to be a guest of the President as Mr. President’s daughter, Zahra Buhari and
billionaire’s son, Ahmed Indimi,will be getting married on December 16.
Already, preparations are in full swing as event
planners are doing all the best possible to make it a low key ceremony as
insisted by the father of the bride, President Muhammadu Buhari.
As expected the mother of the bride, First Lady Aisha
has her friends all around her and everyone making sure she gets the best of
the day as a bride’s mother.
Already invitation for the Kamun Amariya has been sent out.
The Hausa cultural marriages are primarily based on Islamic
rites, the Nikkhai must precede all wedding ceremony. The culturally rich
events tend to last about a week, starting with a wedding Fatiha and ending
with the main wedding reception.

Then, there is the Wuni/Sa Lalle which is an event strictly for the ladies. This is when the bride gets to spend the last bit of free time with her friends and female members of her family, in her father’s house. A mixture of henna is made and used to make beautifully designs on the bride’s hands, palms and legs. Her friends and family also get henna designs on their hands but not as elaborate as the bride. Henna is used to make bring out the beauty of the bride.

There are many activities lined up but the President is still harping on a low budget, low key and no media presence wedding!
Reports that trailed the Lafe ceremony did not go down well with the father of the bride who believed the 30 Louis Vuitton bags were much extravagance from the Indimis.
Anyways, news hounds await how Zahra’s December 16 wedding will not be reported as envisaged by President Buhari.
