Once, again, congrats on your wedding.
The first six months are critical
months. Why? This time, you begin to form opinions of one another that can stick
throughout the relationship. To sail through these months, here are steps to take:
2.Spend time with other marriage-minded couples.
3.Thoughtfully practise actions that you want to stick for the long haul.According to www.mymarriageworks.org, learn your spouse’s love and apology languages, and become fluent in them.
4.Be completely open, and totally honest about what is on your hearts. Don't hide anything from each other. It builds walls that should never be there. Lies break trust.
5Don't be overly defensive if questioned about something. It doesn't make for a happy marriage.
6.Look for the good and don't talk about the little, silly, irritating and annoying things your guy does to your parents, siblings or to close friends of both of you that you see all the time. Spend so much time seeing the wonderful and amazing things you have in your spouse and your relationship that the few small annoying things don't matter so much.
7.Pray for each other, and guard happiness at all costs. It's too precious to lose to something that could have been avoided or worked through.
8. Never be afraid to set boundaries together to keep strong. Don't let family members meddle or talk to you about the small things that your spouse does that irritate them.
9. There are circumstances that may come up that you require help. Don't be afraid to ask for it if you really need it, but do choose someone who is neutral, godly and supportive. This must be someone, who both of you are comfortable discussing with.
