It’s historic. It is the tallest statute in Nigeria and the third tallest
in Africa. The Moremi Statute is a 42 feet tall statute with 30 risers.
The spiritual torch of liberty which will be unveiled on November 25 by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, was
built at the exact place the Yoruba goddess lived centuries ago.
The Moremi Statute
of Liberty is located behind the palace of the Ooni. (Ita Akogun in Ife). It
was locally constructed by Nigerian engineers who are youths with locally
sourced materials.
The grand finale of the statue unveiling will take place on the 25th of
November at 5pm. The statue will be open for viewing for all.
