Admit you need a
partner: A
large percentage of singles pretend they don’t need a mate. They say it, act it
but in their hearts, they desire it. You hear some ladies say, ‘I can do
without a man, I just need a child (ren), I want to remain single’. They bury
decorum, adopt fake lifestyle
s and pretend ‘everything is OK’. But you know ‘everything isn’t OK! You live alone, you are bored, you attend social events alone or with friends/relatives and cry behind closed doors for a mate. Admit there is a need.
s and pretend ‘everything is OK’. But you know ‘everything isn’t OK! You live alone, you are bored, you attend social events alone or with friends/relatives and cry behind closed doors for a mate. Admit there is a need.
Behave that you
have a need:
If you are single, then behave like a bachelor/spinster. How? Mingle with the
right crowd. You cannot be single and still be available among married couples
always. Mind you, nothing wrong having friends who are married but let there be
a limit to your association with them. Have the right crowd and discuss with
people of like minds. On the other hand, that you have the need of a mate
should not make you exhibit to all that you are desperate.
Be friendly: An unfriendly face
will never be inviting even if you are in the midst of a million bachelors and
spinsters. Be friendly and drop any air of pride. Saying hi/hello to people
around or when entering any place should not prove herculean to you anyway.
Aside from the fact that you want to get a mate, being courteous should be like
a second skin to you.
Improve on your
looks:
Who says good looks don’t attract? Physical appearance in your quest to getting
a mate is very important. What to do? First, work on your mind. If you are
troubled and constantly allow worries to take over your mind, it gradually
shows on your face and you either get older or look haggard. Know that your
status is not strange, it’s not out-of-this-world to be single and you are not
going to be the last. ‘Oh, everyone talks about me and I’m always ashamed,’ or
‘everyone is married but me.’ These are natural feelings and thoughts but you
can overcome them when you make up your mind to maintain the flow of joy in
you. A major step in conquering any challenge is this assurance that it is not
strange.
Moreover, improve
on your diet:
Eat well, drink lots of water and tone up by going for exercises if you are
piling up flesh. Good dressing? That is
also a plus. You need not rob a bank to be a decent and good dresser. Just know
what suits you, what you can afford and places to shop according to your purse.
Life can be fun, you know.
Shun pride: Pride makes you
look down on a potential Mr. Right as Mr. Nobody. This does not imply that you
should pick just anyone you don’t like or you are not attracted to. When you
over-estimate your worth and look down on others, you get into trouble and chase
the right partners away.
Be yourself: You are who you
are and cannot pretend to be someone else. Be yourself, don’t fake it, improve
on your flaws, drop bad habits and don’t join the I-want-to-be-like-my friends
train. You may not be that lucky!
Don’t go for time
wasters:
When a single lady, who is not ready to be a part of polygamy, dates a married
man, what are the stakes in the relationship? A young man and still frolicking
with older women as a gigolo? Examine
what you want and what you stand to gain.
Discard
unprofitable affairs:
Are you dating a younger man, you are getting older, and he is not forthcoming
on the issues of marriage? Then call it quits! Or are you dating a younger girl who is always
evasive on marriage, then take a walk and go for a more mature woman, who is
willing and ready to walk down the aisle with you.
Never give in to
pressure:
Finally, know that there is a time to all things. Don’t allow pressures from
friends, parents, relatives or colleagues to push you into making wrong
choices. When you are match-made with someone you don’t like or who you are not
attracted to, don’t be shy to turn down the offer. Or you are in a relationship
which you are battered by your boyfriend/girlfriend? (women too could be
violent) don’t think twice before walking out of it. A broken affair has
nothing to do with the joy of a good marriage in future.
