Nollywood actor, Kenneth Okonkwo became a father again on
May 6, 2016 when his wife, Ifeoma, was delivered of a baby boy. The baby came
nine years after their wedding. It was born at the University of Maryland, St.
Joseph Medical Center, USA.
His first marriage to Ogechi, the only child of Rev.
and Pastor Mrs. Ezekiel of the Christian
Pentecostal Mission (CPM) barely lasted for two years but produced a son. It
ended in a bitter divorce in 2002. His mother-in-law then, Rev Mrs. Mercy
Ezekiel, dragged him to court and slammed a N50m libel suit on him after a
magazine published an interview with him on what crashed his marriage.
The actor, who is also a lawyer is said to be a born
again Christian . Describing his second wife, Ifeoma as ‘beautiful, intelligent
and easy to relate with,” he said he would never cheat on her. In an interview
with the SUN, he said,
” Some
men that love their wives very much are still cheats, not because they want to
cheat, but because the temptations in the world are so much that you need to
have Jesus as Lord and saviour before you can overcome, especially in this
modern time.”
