Genevieve Nnaji makes the headline anyday. Any man would love her at least due
to her outward appearance.
But for the fact that she had a daughter at 17 years
and decided to post the grown up girl’s pictures on social media, it would have
been kept a secret. Genevieve hardly talks or reveals anything about
herself.
A good virtue, you would say. But she went too far and
lost her dream of becoming a married woman.
Though no
longer news that the actress was dumped at the aisle by her fiance, Ugochukwu
Udezue, a wealthy NBA basketball in August 2016 before they could exchange marital
vows in Milan, what remains a puzzle is the attitude she puts up as if nothing
of such ever happened.
Ms Nnaji and the Denver Colorado-based NBA agent got engaged months ago and were set to get married in the last week of August in Milan. Genevieve was said to have flown to Milan. Already, some of her close friends were already in Milan, and among those listed as guests were Joy Okpe, Oluchi Orlandi, Chinny Onwugbenu and a few others.
The wedding was meant to be hush-hush and when all guests were gathered, the groom-to-be called off the wedding.
A reliable source said, “On why he cancelled the wedding at the last minute, Udezue reportedly told his friends that he doesn't trust Miss Nnaji after she chose to make the wedding private.
Secondly, his father has refused to give his blessing because of Genevieve Nnaji's suspicious demand of not wanting close family members at the wedding.
It was further disclosed that Ugo's dad also refused to attend the event nor give his blessing.
Months before the wedding, Genevieve Nnaji reportedly begged Udezue to keep the wedding ceremony a low-key one. She even went as far as not telling any member of her family nor her colleagues. She only left Nigeria with her best friend Oluchi Orlandi and few other friends.
“Mr Udezue thought Miss Nnaji has something to hide that was why she didn't bother to invite her parents to the wedding ceremony scheduled for Milan. This and his father's refusal forced Mr Udezue to call off the wedding.”
The actress is said to be putting up a public façade as if nothing happened but everyone especially her friends, have disclosed that she is hurting and the probability of marrying again is slim.
For one who has dated the high, mighty, wealthy and famous, Genevieve, whose Ghanaian lover bought a mansion worth over 4million dollars in Achimota area of Accra, Ghana, in 2015 must have met her waterloo in Udezue, a wealthy basketballer.
She definitely has so much to cover up and therefore sought for a private wedding which excluded even her family members.
A source told Kemiashefonlovehaven, “Udezue seems to have called off the wedding and any affair with the actress. His father is vehemently against the affair. Now, Genevieve has made up her mind to face her career and put the ugly incident behind her.”
